Six hikers (Pam Bliss, leader, Tom Dorr, Scott Lake, Carol Moss, Nancy O’Donohue, Carl) joined together on a humid but not too warm of a morning. It was a very nice day for a hike in the foothills. It was a almost steady climb to our objective, the Old Man Rocks. The group, numbering about 16, past a number of other interesting rock formations. There was still snow and ice about but fortunately no serious slippery spots. The Old Man is located at the edge of an arroyo that drops of to the valley below. May be quit a sight after a heavy rain.

Hello all,
Was a splendid day for a walk at Valle de Oro, from now on to be known at the “Eagle Hike” since again this year we saw eagles, 2 up from 1 last year. Thanks for the sharp eyes. We also saw dozens of Sandhill Cranes, hundreds of Canada and Snow Geese, a Coopers Hawk, a Swainson’s Hawk, a Flicker, lots of crows.
