We had a great time on the trail near Carlsbad and tours of the Cavern. Check out the pictures.

Nancy Carrillo and John Weiss toured the cavern on the 14th. Scott Lake, his wife Nancy Harris and friend Ray Baldwin, also toured the cavern separately on the same day. On our way out of the park we saw several Mule Deer.

The evening of the 14th we were able to have a meal with folks from the Carlsbad branch, Roger and Barbara Holmen. Great to meet people from a sister church.

On Sunday morning (the 15th) Scott, John, Nancy and Melanie Burris (from the Carlsbad branch) drove to Guadalupe Mts. National Park. See a park map here. We hiked on the Smith Springs Trail, a wonderful hike up the slope of Frijole Ridge to Smith Spring. Read about it here. I would highly recommend this easy to moderate trail. It is about a 2 miles loop. Later that day we went to the park visitors center where they have a small natural history museum. And after that we took a short hike on the McKitterick trail.

On Sunday afternoon we were able to attend the branch church service and got to meet many members of the congregation there.

I (Scott) was fortunate to see a small heard of Pronghorn Antelope between Roswell and Vaughn on my way home.

ALL IN ALL A MEMORABLE TRIP.
